About Us

Welcome to Saint Mary Help of Christians community of faith and excellence.

Benedictine sisters from the St. Benedicts Monastery in St. Joseph began teaching in the school in St. Augusta in 1886, very early in the school’s history. Today, St. Mary Help of Christians School continues the tradition of excellence in Catholic education in our current building, which was built in 1964. Our school community will give your child a solid foundation in academics and Catholic tradition.

Currently, St. Mary’s has grades Kindergarten through 6. There are 120 students enrolled for the 2011-2012 school year. We are pleased to offer and excellent student to teacher ratio. Class sizes range from 12 to 23 students. Our school hours are 7:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.

With our focus toward educating the whole child, in addition to core classroom curriculum, St. Mary Help of Christians also offers students religion, art, physical education, music, band, library, and technology.

St. Mary Help of Christians School helps your child grow in faith and build a sense of compassion through Active participation in weekly Mass, prayer services, daily religion classes, and our community service projects such as Catholic Charities, Anna Marie Alliance, Veterans program, and sending toys of an orphanage in Haiti.

Students’ individual academic needs are met at St. Mary Help of Christians School. Our dedicated teachers strive to continue their professional development through increasing their knowledge of current education issues and best practices to help students reach their highest potential. Auxiliary staff and volunteers work with our teachers as part of our dedicated educational team.

Our school has a positive working relationship with the St. Cloud Public School District. Qualifying students participate in Special Education and Speech programs offered through Clearview Elementary.

Students are able to participate in enriching activities, including field trips, the annual Christmas program, Catholic Schools’ week in January. Students are offered the opportunity for band lessons. Students are also offered the opportunity to participate in many sports through the Parochial Athletic Association.

We think we have something very special at St. Mary Help of Christians School, and we thank you for your interest in our school community. Please contact us if you wish to visit or would like further information about our school.

Blessings in Christ,
